Overview
The Witcher 4 is the next mainline entry in CD PROJEKT RED's dark-fantasy RPG series and the first game in a new Witcher saga.
Ciri is the protagonist, now following the Path as a professional monster slayer. CD PROJEKT RED describes the project as a single-player open-world role-playing game and says it is being developed in-house with Unreal Engine 5.
The studio's Unreal Engine 5 technology presentation has also shown Kovir, a far-northern region that will appear in the game. The technical demo was presented as a technology showcase rather than final gameplay.
CD PROJEKT RED is currently targeting a 2028 release for The Witcher 4. An exact launch date has not been announced.
