Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5, "To Roll the Stars in Astropolis," launches on August 26, 2026. HoYoverse has positioned the update as the next major chapter after the crisis in Planarcadia, with the Astral Express setting a course for Astropolis while the wider story around the Voracity continues.
The update also introduces two new five-star character forms, new story content and events, and several gameplay and quality-of-life changes.
The story moves to Astropolis
Version 4.5 sends the Trailblazer to Astropolis, an important IPC stronghold tied to the effort to help Planarcadia after the latest crisis.
HoYoverse has confirmed new permanent story content for the update. The main Version 4.5 Trailblaze Mission becomes available after the update, while the Trailblaze Continuance "How to Lose Your Way to the Top: The Zero-Dollar Strategy" also becomes permanently available on August 26 for eligible players.
The new chapter mixes the larger Planarcadia crisis with a lighter summer-themed storyline involving Robin and Aventurine.
Robin • Summeretto and Aventurine • Waveflair
Version 4.5 adds two new limited five-star characters built as new forms of familiar faces.
Robin • Summeretto is a five-star Wind character following the Path of Remembrance. She arrives in the first half of the version alongside a rerun of Hyacine.
Aventurine • Waveflair is a five-star Quantum character following the Path of Elation. His Event Warp begins later in the version, with Ashveil returning alongside him.
The update also introduces new Light Cones, including the four-star Elation Light Cone A Little Getaway.
New events and gameplay updates
The Version 4.5 program highlighted several new activities. Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix puts the Trailblazer in charge of a racing team, while Minuscule Great Adventure adds a set of lighter stage-based challenges.
Gift of Odyssey also returns, providing up to 10 Star Rail Special Passes through daily logins.
Divergent Universe receives another gameplay update during the version, while recurring double-drop activities such as Planar Fissure and Realm of the Strange are also part of the event schedule.
Faster story dialogue and other improvements
One of the more noticeable quality-of-life additions in Version 4.5 is an option to speed up story dialogue. Players can enable or disable faster dialogue playback while going through story scenes.
The update also continues HoYoverse's regular round of system, interface, event, and combat adjustments.
